Term: source_mat_id

A unique identifier assigned to a material sample (as defined by http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/materialSampleID). This identifier refers to the original material collected. We use it to identify CTD bottles or sediment trap cups, i.e., the source material before it was separated into biological or technical replicates.
